Physics Section Profile

The Physics Section of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology was started in the year 1945 and now functioning with a new laboratory. It offers a course on Physics as one of the subjects to the students in the first year of the various branches of study.

It is well equipped with necessary facilities and resources for teaching, higher learning and research. The laboratory includes basic experiment, ultrasonic interferometer and synthesis of Nano particle preparation instruments.

At present the Section comprises of 6 staff members with three Professors, two Associate Professors and one Assistant Professor and been responsible for the award of fifty Ph.D. and one hundred and thirty M.Phil. It has obtained a grant of Rupees 15 lakhs for projects from the UGC and the focuses on research in the fields of Spectroscopy, Petrophysics, Ultrosonics, Crystal growth, Nanoscience and Material Science. The teaching staff and scholars have published more than 350 research articles in reputed journals.
